Tehran, Aug 28, IRNA – Iran-South Korea Technology Exchange Center opened Sunday in a ceremony in presence of head of Organization of Small Industries and Industrial Townships Ali Yazdani and head of South Korean Organization of Small Industries Ju Yang Sap.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the project was signed during South Korean president visit to Tehran on May 1.
Talking to reporters on Sunday on the sidelines of the signing ceremony, Yazdani said that South Korea is fourth Asian and 11th world economic power, 99 percent of whose industries are small and medium.
He further noted that Iran-South Korea Exchange Center will help the two countries' small and medium industries in the fields of education, marketing and transfer of technical know-how.

He said that the current level of Iranian trade with South Korea stood at five billion dollars a year, and that they have set a target to raise the figure to 25 billion dollars within ten-year period.

The official hoped that establishment of the center would help bolster cooperation among the small and medium industrial units.
Head of South Korean Organization of Small Industries Ju Yang Sap said that the country owns 3,500 small and medium enterprises.
Industries with income of 50 million dollars are considered small while those with 150 million dollars are medium industries, he said.
