U.S.-Iran trade sextuples in July

TEHRAN- While the U.S. imposed a new round of sanctions on Iran's trade in precious metals, transactions in U.S. dollar, as well as Iran's auto sector in August and oil exports sanctions are to arrive in the early November, the American Statistical Association (ASA) reported that in July 2018, Iran-U.S. trade reached $60.7 million increasing six times more than the figure, $10.2 million, in the same period in 2017.

According to the report, Iran’s imports of the U.S. in July reached $35.7 million growing five times more that the same time span in the preceding year, i.e. $6.9 million.

The U.S. imports from Iran in the named month experienced a 7.5-times more rise and reached $25 million from the preceding $3.3 million in July 2017.

During the first seven months of 2018, Iran-U.S. trade stood at $155.6 million, increasing 80 percent from the same time in the previous year.

The U.S. exports to Iran in these seven months boosted 101 percent hitting $95.4 million and its imports from Iran increased 54 percent and stood at $60.2 million, the same report confirmed.
