L-Carnitine is an amino acid derivative that plays an important role in fat metabolism and energy production in the heart, liver and skeletal musceles. this compound generates energy (ATP) in the cell by transporting long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria (the site of fatty acids oxidation or burning). Caffeine is a methylxantine compound that stimulates the central nervous system (CNS), heart, respiration and muscles with antagonistic effect on adenosine receptors and inhibition of phosphodiesterase enzyme. Caffeine enhances muscles metabolism, lipid oxidation and increases time of exhaustion during physical activity which is ultimately associated with increased physical endurance and weight loss.
