Official: Iran, Uzbekistan to prepare cooperation development plan

Moscow, March 14, IRNA – Deputy foreign minister Ebrahim Rahimpour announced that Iran and Uzbekistan will prepare a program for broadening of cooperation.

“Tehran and Tashkent are preparing a plan for broadening of relations in the 12th joint Iran-Uzbekistan Commission,” Rahimpour said in a meeting Uzbekistan’s foreign economic relations in Tashkent on Tuesday.

During the meeting the two senior officials discussed the latest status of economic and trade relations between the two countries.

The two sides also agreed to strengthen their cooperation in transport and transit sectors.

Rahimpour and Ghaniov also reiterated that talks at different expert levels in different areas will be held to prepare programs for holding the 12th Joint Cooperation Commission that will be held within next six months.

Uzbekistan is located in Central Asia and it has common borders with Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan in an area of 447,400 square kilometers.
