Crude steel exports up over 51% in 8 months
Tehran, Jan 2, IRNA – The private sector exported 3,742,000 tons of crude steel and related products in the first eight months (March 20-November 20) of this year (started on March 20), showing 51 percent increase compared to that in the same period the year before.
A table released by Iran Steel Producers Association says crude steel exports in the eight months under study reached 2.296 million tons. The bulk included 1.593 million billet and bloom and 701,000 tons slab.
The exports showed 116 percent growth compared to that in the corresponding period the year before.
Furthermore, export of steel products in the first eight months was 1,446,000 tons, up three percent, compared to 1,410,000 tons in the same period last year.
Iran is the world's 14th major steel maker stands second in the region after Turkey, followed by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE and so on.
