Official: Iran signs 70m-Euro radio-medicine deal with foreign firms
Bushehr, Nov 19, IRNA – Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi said Iran has signed deals with a number of foreign companies to produce radio-medicine.
Talking to reporters here on Saturday in south of the country, he said the contracts are worth a total of 70 million in Euro.
He said the project, which is sponsored by the National Development Fund will be completed in three years.
Iran will be able to even export radio-medicine to foreign countries once the project, labeled as GMP, becomes operational, the official said.
According to the official, over one million Iranian patients are currently using nuclear medicine.
Noting that producing vaccines and radio-medicine is a top priority for his organization, Salehi said good progress has been made in the area thanks to efforts of domestic experts.
He said good planning is already in place as well to produce pesticides and resistant seed.
The AEOI chief also noted that a nuclear emergency center has already been established in Isfahan with two others to follow in Bushehr and Arak cities.
