IRNA, Yonhap joint photo exhibition opens in Seoul
Seoul, Sept 28, IRNA – Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) and South Korean Yonhap news agency opened a joint photo exhibition at National Museum of Korean Contemporary History in Seoul on Wednesday.
The opening ceremony was attended by South Korean Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Cho Yoon-sun, Ambassador for Public Diplomacy at Foreign Ministry Cho Hyundong, Iranian ambassador to South Korea Hassan Taherian, as well as Lee Sang min, a member of South Korean National Assembly.
During his opening speech, the Iranian ambassador to South Korea expressed his 'profound thanks and appreciation' to the Yonhap news agency as well as the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History for organizing such an excellent photo exhibition.
The event is deeply significant and it will be open simultaneously both in Tehran and Seoul at the very moment when both countries need to further expand the close cooperation and friendship in a variety of sectors since Iran-Korea Summit Talks in Tehran early May this year, Taherian said.
During President Park's recent visit to Tehran, the two presidents called for promoting cultural ties between the two countries and introduced the next year as the year of cultural exchange between Iran and South Korea, Taherian added.
Relations between Iran and South Korea is very close and cordial, he said, adding that friendship between the two countries is based on the longstanding historical and cultural ties which started 1,300 years ago.
'I am confident that guided by their common commitment to increasing the cultural exchange, coupled with growing economic integration, the two countries will continue to forge closer ties and cooperation in diverse fields, in the years to come.'
