Azeri president opens section of Alat-Astara-Iran border highway
Baku, Sept 4, IRNA – Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev opened section of Alat-Astara-Iran border highway.
As part of his visit to the border area of Salyan district, president of the Republic of Azerbaijan attended the opening of a 21.4 km-long section of Alat-Astara-Iran state border highway.
During the visit, Aliyev was informed about the technical indicators of the highway.
The new highway whic is 40 kilometers shorter than the old one connects the Azerbaijan capital Baku to Astara on Irania border. The project is financed by the World Bank, Asia Development Bank, and the government of Azerbaijan.
