Japan doubles Iranian oil import

Tehran, July 30, IRNA – Japan doubled Iranian oil imports in the first half of 2016 compared to the corresponding period last year, Oil Ministry said on Saturday.

The Iranian Oil Ministry cited Japanese Ministry of Oil, Economy, Commerce and Industry report that import of crude oil from Iran hit 1.31 million kilo-litter last June.

The figure constitutes 8.8 percent of Japan's total crude oil import, registering 195.8 percent growth compared to the corresponding period last year, it said.

Iran exported 308,000 barrels of crude oil and gas condensates to Japan last May and stood the 4th main supplier of crude oil to Japan.
