Astrakhan Governor arrives in Mazandaran prov.
Sari, July 23, IRNA – The Governor General of Astrakhan, Russia, heading a trade-media delegation arrived in Mazandaran on Saturday to develop bilateral ties.
Secretary of Mazandaran Information Council Ahmad Mozaffari said that the 37-member delegation was invited by Mazandaran governor general to negotiate on issues related to bilateral ties.
Mozaffari told IRNA that Astrakhan ministers of Industry, Transport and Natural Resources, agriculture and fisheries and Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations accompany Alexander Zhilkin during this trip.
He added that during the two-day trip, the delegation is scheduled to visit production and industrial units of Mazandaran, hold meeting with governor general and meet with merchants and businessmen.
The delegation is also to implement an MoU signed between the two provinces in 2014-2015.
The current trip is Zhilkin's second trip during the incumbent Iranian government.
Mazandaran province has exported $430m of products abroad, $12m of which was exported to Russia, but the volume of exports to Russia had a 2.5-fold fall in 2015-2016 compared to the previous years.
Astrakhan is a city in southern Russia and the administrative center of Astrakhan Oblast.
