Khorramabad exports to Iraq stand at $6.2b
Khorramabad, Lorestan prov., July 13, IRNA – Exports from the provincial city of Khorramabad to Iraq stood at dlrs 6.2 billion over the past Iranian, Iranian Commercial attaché in Iraq Ebrahim Mohammadzadeh said on Wednesday.
Ebrahim Mohammadzadeh made the remarks in a meeting with Lorestan province working group regulating non-oil exports.
He said that 30% of exports worth $2.2 million were food and agriculture products.
He added that provincial exports to Iraq made 17-fold growth since Iranian year 1383 (2004-2005). Then, the exports stood at dlrs 369 million a year compared to the current figure of dlrs 6.2 billion.
He noted that last year Iranian firms Kaleh and Pegah exported $500m and about $100m to Iraq respectively.
He said that China, Iraq, United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, India and Turkey are the other countries supplying goods to Iraq. Iran's share is 17.% of the Iraqi market.
He said that Iranian exports to foreign countries fell seven percent last year, but, Iranian exports to Iraq made 2% rise.
