Iran, Syria sign MoU on banking cooperation

Tehran, Jan 30, IRNA - Iran and Syria signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the central banks of the two countries.

 

 

The MoU was signed during a visit of the high-level delegation from Iran's business and economic commission to Damascus which was headed by the First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri.

The memorandum was inked for facilitating trade and banking cooperation with the aim of strengthening cooperation and coordination between the parties in order to stabilize the banking sector and to strengthen and facilitate trade exchanges and encourage encouragement of trade between the two sides, IRNA quoted the Syrian official news agency (SANA) on Wednesday. 

The Syrian Ministry of Tourism also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Iranian Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization on Tuesday to strengthen bilateral relations in the field of tourism and pilgrimage aimed at regulating the presence of Iranian pilgrims in Syria's holy places with the return of security and stability in the country. 

First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri, heading a high-ranking politico-economic delegation, departed for Damascus on Monday to attend the summit meetings between Iran and Syria. Iran and Syria signed 11 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) at the end of the 14th meeting of the Joint Committee of Iran and Syria.
