 Banking ties key to broadening of Iran-Qatar coop

Doha, May 13, IRNA – Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Reza Fayyaz said on Sunday that the key to increasing Tehran-Doha cooperation in the field of economy is development of banking relations between the two countries.

 

 

Fayyaz, as head of Iranian technical-expertise delegation, participated in the 6th joint economic commission meeting with Qatar in Doha.

He said that Iran is an 80-million-people market for trade, agriculture, oil and tourism which all depends on easy financial connections, so banking cooperation should be established.

Figures related to trade exchange between the two countries are so low and Iran has prepared a roadmap to increase economic ties until year 2022 to five billion dollars, Fayyaz said.

He invited Qatari companies to have more participation in Iran market, and said that all possibilities are ready for your activities.

The 6th joint economic commission meeting, after 13 years delay, is being held on May 13-14 in Doha.

An Iranian delegation comprising 70 experts and businessmen from both public and private sectors arrived in Doha, capital of Qatar, on Sunday morning.

To like trade, mine, customs, oil, petrochemical, standard, export and banking affairs are to be discussed and considered in five committees during the meeting.

The 6th joint economic commission meeting was held on Sunday (May 13) at the level of experts and on May 14 (Monda) will be held at the ministerial level.
