Iran Launches 2 Solar Power Plants in Cooperation with France
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran and France cooperated in building and assembling two new solar power plants in Tehran with the capacity of producing 17MW of electricity.
"A 10-MW solar power plant was built in Shamsabad and another 7-MW power plant in Damavand as a result of cooperation between an Iranian company and a French firm," Head of Power Distribution Company of Tehran Haji Reza Teimouri said on Wednesday.
He added that the power plants will soon launch operation in the presence of the Iranian officials.
In a relevant development in January, a provincial director general for economic affairs said that Germany has built five solar power plants in Hamedan Province, West of Iran, in a bid to help the country in the field of renewable energies.
"German ATUS Company has already made and installed four solar power plants in Hamadan Province and is now making the fifth one," Nasser Mahmoudi said.
He underlined that the foreign financiers have taken charge of investment of the power plants.
ATUS is the second biggest manufacturer and provider of solar power systems in the world.
