Minister: Iran ready to create joint venture in IT with Russia

Baku, Dec 5, IRNA – Minister of Information and Communication Technology Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi in a meeting with his counterpart from Russia Nikolai Nikiforov here on Tuesday said Iran is ready to create joint venture companies in the field of the ICT with Russia.

 

 

The two ministers held talks on the sidelines of information and communication technology ministers meeting of ECO member- states in Baku.

In the meeting, the two sides discussed development of information technology, expansion of relations between companies of the two countries in the fields of search engines, security and production of electronic components.

Nikiforov said that the two countries are trying to support joint venture projects between the private sectors companies of the two countries.

He also expressed Russia's readiness to this end.

Azari Jahromi welcomed proposal of his Russian counterpart, and said that Iran is ready to create joint venture companies in this field with Russia and other countries like China and India.

He arrived in Baku on Tuesday morning to attend second ICT ministerial meeting of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states.

ECO member states included Iran, Azerbaijan Republic, Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
