 Azerbaijan eager to expand ties with Tabriz

Republic of Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism declared that Tehran and Isfahan Days would be held on April 3, 9 respectively and expressed his country's readiness to take part in Tabriz Program in 2018.

Pointing to deep religious, lingual, cultural and historical bonds between Republic of Azerbaijan's people and Iranian East Azarbaijan Province, Adalat Aliyev in a meeting with the province governor Ismail Jabbarzadeh on Wednesday urged expansion of mutual cultural-tourism cooperation.

Noting that this year in the Republic of Azerbaijan is designated as Islamic Solidairty, he highlighted the religious and cultural commonalities between Iran and his country as good grounds to expand the two countries’ tourist capacities.

East Azarbaijan governor, on his part, referring to Iran’s president's order that there would not be any barrier on the path of expansion ties with the Republic of Azerbaijan said: choosing Tabriz as the tourism capital of Islamic countries in 2018 can be an opportunity to expand bilateral art and cultural relations.

He also maintained that mutual ties during President Hassan Rouhani’s four-year term of office have been promoted to a great extent, referring to visits of more than 50 economic-trade delegations from the two countries as indications of the expansion.

The Iranian official also urged using the Republic of Azerbaijan’s experience in tourism sector, and called for facilitation measures particulary with regard to visa issuance to promote tourism sectors of the two countries.

Republic of Azerbaijan is located in the South of Caucasus Mountains and north of Aras river, neighboring Caspian Sea, with Muslims accounting for more than 90 percent of its population.
