The preliminary objective of MAPNA have been developing and implementing Thermal Power Plants. This Company was established with the aim of power plants project management, since its establishment in 1992.

Mapna locomotive engineering and manufacturing company was established in 2007 and started a large-scale project for production of 150 passenger diesel-electrical locomotives under the license of SIEMENS Company, which they delivered to the Islamic Republic of Iran Railway (RAI), based on time schedule of the Contract. Now, MLC is a leading manufacturer of diﬀerent types of passenger & freight diesel-electric locomotives, shunting locomotives, tunnel locomotives and implementation of diﬀerent urban railway transportation projects (Metro Cars & LRV).
